Beef and Onion Pizza

With melty mozzarella cheese and the sweet taste of caramelized onions, ground beef and onion pizza is perfect for your next pizza night!

– Pizza dough – 1 cup pizza sauce – 2 medium yellow onions  – 1 lb extra lean ground beef – ½ teaspoon fine sea salt – ½ teaspoon black pepper – 6 cups mozzarella cheese

INGREDIENTS

Cook the onions, salt, pepper and beef for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.

Cook beef mixture.

Roll out the pizza dough and top with ¼ cup of sauce, ¾ cup of the beef mixture and 1 and ½ cups of shredded cheese.

Assemble.

Transfer to oven and bake at 475 F for 9-11 minutes until the crust is cooked and the cheese is melted.

Bake.

Move to a wire rack to cool slightly and remove parchment.

Cool slightly.

Garnish with green onions, red pepper flakes and fresh parmesan.

Slice and Serve!

Add More Vegetables- Add a sliced bell pepper or shredded carrots to the beef mixture. – Switch Up the Cheese- Try out this pizza with another type of cheese such as cheddar or gouda. – Use a Different Sauce- For a different flavour twist, use Barbecue Sauce in place of pizza sauce.

Make It Your Own

If you have leftover beef mixture, use it to make a panini with mozzarella and pizza sauce- YUM!
